How to become successful blogger

Are you struggling to build a successful blog? Maybe you’re having a tough time creating a full time income through blogging. Perhaps you just want to get your first 10 email subscribers.

In any case you can succeed by following next tips and the blogging leaders.

Blogging has helped many to build a pretty neat lifestyle of hopping between tropical paradises like Fiji, Bali and Thailand over the past 5 years.

I have learned a few inspired lessons from leading bloggers during my world travels. Build a rocking blog by adopting the traits of these successful entrepreneurs.

1: The Right Mindset

Steve Scott is killing it in the Kindle self-publishing niche now but once upon a time he devoted his energies to building a highly successful blog. He explains how having an abundant mindset helped him to succeed online. Give away free eBooks. Offer your best content for free. Be generous with your time and talents. Build premium products and services to monetize your passions. Do your best work possible with each free and premium offering. Think and act abundantly. This combination of being generous and creating valuable, premium services is one reason why Steve has generated $30K each month (or more) selling Kindle eBooks on Amazon.

2: Being Connected

Donna Merrill seems to know everybody. She’s an omnipresent force often spotted in comment fields or expert roundup features on a blog near you. Donna has succeeded with her blog because she connects 1 to 1 with an increasing number of aspiring bloggers through:
- Blog commenting
- Social media
- Email
- Being featured on round ups

Donna follows great philosophy; when someone asks her for help she rarely says “No”! Become a connected blogger by helping people through a variety of online channels.
If you’re new to blogging just promote top bloggers, comment on their blogs and learn voraciously from the blogging big dawgs. Build connections. Get connected.

3: Pick an Easy to Visualize Domain Name (or Your Name)

I see myself as a guy who has fun and helps folks. Some bribed, I mean, loyal readers may refer to me as “being successful.”

Readers think in pictures. If readers can easily picture your domain name you’ll likely attract more loyal, supportive readers. The exception: simply pick your domain name and build your brand around you. As your name becomes more recognizable so will your blog.

4: Creating Helpful Content

Go short form or long form. Just be helpful. John Chow and his writers publish shorter, punchier and valuable posts.

Ramsay Taplin crafts in-depth, thorough, valuable resources. Both strategies work. Publish posts anywhere from 600 to 3,000 words in length to create something useful. Whether you write long or short blog posts solve problems with each piece of content. Address your reader’s pain points. Put yourself in your ideal reader’s shoes before you sit down to write your posts. Be empathetic. Be compassionate. Seeing through the eyes of your readers helps you to solve their problems effectively.

5. Persist

Don’t give up. Keep going no matter what resistance you face during your blogging journey. Successful bloggers use obstacles like stepping stones. Learn from each difficulty to pay your blogging tuition. Build a successful blog by capitalizing on both your victories and failures.

What a very awesome, insightful and inspirational article Abid thanks a lot for sharing it! Those people are indeed some great beacons of inspiration and it just goes to show how much truth there is in when people say imitate others success to see success as well.

When it comes to blogging, a lot of people can put a lot into it at the start but get burned out and loose interest when they aren't seeing a lot of traffic, sales and conversions and customers! But a small group of people keep punching and punching and punching through the wall. And some of them eventually start getting through to the other side.

These are the people you've mentioned but there are many more as well. That's the thing about blogging that can be so enticing to new bloggers / freelancers & affiliates of today. There are quite a lot of successful bloggers out there. And people now know that you can make a good residual income from blogging as well.

But it's not always easy at the start. Sure, you're putting out great articles and sharing on social media. But you're not really getting a great amount of traffic, sales, customers and earnings at all. So then you need to learn from the top and do the things those other successful bloggers have done and are doing to attract more readers, get more traffic and better rankings to their blog.

That's more thinking like a business and treating your blog like a business. Any business needs some ground roots, needs to network with other business's and blogs. Reach out more on social media and always work on building backlinks and traffic sources to your blog. It all requires work but if there is a demand for it, and you're hungry enough for it, you have to keep punching until you break through.

It's all about tapping into something. Finding a demand for something. Such as solutions to problems they are having. All of this and more. Like you said, you need to have the right mindset from the start and never loose that until you make it.

Blogging is made up of so many parts. And to be a "successful blogger" may mean different things to different people. Whether it's being successful with your blog enough to pay your bills and have a little left over to save each month. Or enough to buy a new home and live the life of an eligible bachelor for the rest of your life.

  • Dreams and Intentions
At first you are probably sold into the dream of blogging. You've heard how people are making money from it and your intentions are to own a successful blog.
  • Determination
You have to be determined to reach your goals and dreams of being a successful blogger. You need to have the mindset of the pros from the start. Think big and aim high. Never settle for second best and let the solutions flow!
  • Demand
There needs to be a demand for your product. Even if the competition is high. Never let that put you off. There is always room for one more at the top!
  • Solution
The best blogs are blogs that are resourceful and informative. Evergreen blogs that write about something the reader is interested in of course. But blogs that actually help people by providing unique, informative information, solutions to problems etc!
  • Call to Action
Lots of bloggers don't make use of Call To Actions properly, don't use enough or use too many. Never boss and bully people into doing something as a blogger. Try to gently walk them into it. Create the image in someone's mind and then you're putty in your hand!
  • Networking
Simply put unless anyone knows about your blog or sees it you wont get far fast! A successful blogger will make full use of all social media sites and always be networking with and finding opportunities to network with more bloggers and websites.

All these and more. All these different parts of a successful blog.

Are all the ingredients and need to come together to make it happen!

Anwebservices thank you for a great post about blogging. I have now gone to go and search for Donna Merrill online since I had not heard of her before. Yes maybe I should have?

I like what you have written about helping people. I have heard a few people say that when you blog you should actually forget about making money! They say that if you focus on enjoying yourself, being yourself and providing value to others via your blog the money will come to you How to become successful blogger

Focus on being a great blogger and you won't need to worry about the money. Well I like to use that mentality but I do think about the money quite a bit. Thankfully the money is coming in How to become successful blogger

Yeah, as some great bloggers said, don't focus your blogging on making money from your blog, then you will probably make more money by blogging. And it's true. When you see someone bombarding you with everything to convert you into buyer, it can be irritating and subconsciously most of people go away, while connecting to people with tips above will probably make you more money in ad clicks and direct or affiliate sales.
It's all about tactics

Persistence is my biggest problem. I simply give up after a certain period of time. Every time I started a blog I focused way too much on not that important aspects like getting the design right and having a perfect code as well as optimizing the hell out of it from an SEO point of view.

And doing all this I neglected what blog are all about, content. Sure programming and deign are both highly important but I should had focused on writing and optimize stuff as I moved along, grown and developed as a blogger.

Success is an abstract term. It is difficult to measure success. If you generate 1000 daily views, you can consider yourself successful when you compare with someone who is able to get only 100 views. However, if you compare with someone who is getting 10k daily views, you are not successful.

If you mean by success is getting popular then I don’t think it is easy. But in the financial side, I guess you can do SEO methods on your blog so it can get more traffic than the usual traffic that you are getting with your personal promotion. Maybe all bloggers are dreaming of success and the only thing we can do is to persevere in uploading good contents and doing the promotion regularly.
