What if buyer asked for refund with no reason?

What if buyer is also a reseller and buys from you and then asks for refund with no reason at all? Should you refund him?

Absolutely theirs almost no reason why a buyer should NOT be refunded. This rarely happens and instead of wasting a bunch of time trying to argue your better off just refunding him and keeping it moving. The only reason i could see for not wanting to refund him is that your on time and the order is done or almost done. At this point i would make sure that this buyer doesn't have a track record of doing this. You simply contact admin here on seoclerks and they will look into the matter for you. if you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

Hello sanfora,
I can't speak for everybody or anybody besides myself. But I personally refund about 75% of the times. No matter the reason. And I do this because of two things. First of all, I hate to spend time trying to convince my clients to approve the delivery, withdraw their cancellation request or argue about things regarding refunds. It's too much work involved and it just eats up all my energy and the time.

My other reason, is because I could get negative feedbacks, or unsatisfied clients who'll try to ruin my business by stupid comments and all that. That's also why I always state within my services something like this: "you will be satisfied with my service or you will get back 20% of this order with no questions asked". That's my guarantee. 20% money back without a single question asked.

Best Regards,
hitmeasap

Yes i forgot about that, i have been on seoclerks for years now and i rarely see any buyers using this feature.

Exactly. Most buyers would never ask for a refund to get 20% of their funds back, but having guarantees like that shows you as a true professionall, and it also functions like a security thing for the buyers. The buyers are safe whenever they're dealing with a seller who offers guarantees. Buyers won't lose their money, which a lot of buyers are afraid of doing.

And, in case I would ever encounter a buyer who'd request that 20% refund, I would gladly give them that. I've still earned 80%, which is 80% more than I had before.

Yes I've seen a few sellers offering something like this. I think it is a good way to do things, it makes the buyer feel safer with a guarantee and it protects the seller.

And.. What is one of the major things you'll have to do, to get clients and orders? - You'll need to earn the buyers trust, and in this business, on a marketplace like SEOClerks with tons of competitors everywhere, you have about 15 seconds to make it happen. A guarantee is one of the easiest way of gaining trust.. And best part is, that everyone can use that option.

Yes I can certainly see how it will make an impact early on. Like I said I have noticed it on some services.

Something I have also seen though, which at times actually did the exact opposite for me, was sellers saying "full refund no questions asked". There were a few times when it make me think the seller was dodgy! I think that there can be a fine line between making a seller feel safe and going too far.

I can't remember which seller or exactly which service it was, but I think it was something along the lines of a huge amount of backlinks, social followers or traffic for a crazy price like $1.

Well, I am not sure why that should be the case. If the buyer offers me a valid reason for requesting a refund I would obviously give him the refund. However if he wants a refund for no reason at all, and I have either completed all or most of the work, I would want a proper explanation. Time is money and I cannot devote a substantial amount of time writing for nothing. I think that this should not be a regular occurrence as when a buyer places an order he should be responsible enough to know that he really needs that particular service.

Hi sanfora thanks for showing your concern. I am not going to say all buyer are good and all seller are good. You may see most of the fraud happening by buyer. And nowadays lot of fraud buyer gathering on SEOclerks and they try to get free service from you. And I faced also such type of buyer several times. They just reject order without any excuse and if I asked them to know what happening, they going to dump. I think nothing to do for this situation except refund money. Either you have huge chance to get negative feedback. So, try to always to avoid negative feedback, which may damage your future business. Despite of, if you have proper evidence, you can contact with help desk about this issue, they may protect your work, which done for him.
For real job done, you always deserve to get paid.

Oh that is awful, I had no idea some of the buyers here behaved that way. I hope that they get reported to admin if they do it on a regular basis and get banned or something. That is so unethical.

It usually depends, a lot of the times the users wanting refunds actually purchased social services. Here's a list of reasons why they want a refund:
  1. Service title and/or descriptions were misleading
  2. Service didn't meet expectations set forth in service title and/or descriptions
  3. Bad service

Surely you won't be amazed at how many sellers sell social followers, likes etc and in their descriptions state they are 100% real humans, will be active, comment on your posts, like your posts, etc. When a buyer receives the fake followers, or likes they usually instantly know they are fake because of the botted names and pictures. I mean how many users have Angelina Jolie, Britney Spears, or Justin Bieber following them? Not a lot.
