As a freelancer, how important is networking?

Networking is interaction between you and other people in order to build relationships and contacts in a professional or social environment. Network is important because building relationships with other people and getting new contacts will help you when you require skills and knowledge that you don't have as you can approach them for help. You can exchange your knowledge and skills too to develop yourself. As a freelancer, networking is important because if you have contacts, then you can build a quality team easier rather than use people you don't know about. You can also outsource work to your contacts.

I try to network all the time because I'm always building my business. Gaining clients and making sales isn't all that business is about, you need to build connections in order to thrive. You never know how those connections will come to be an asset later on in life As a freelancer, how important is networking?

I've gone to meet ups that were organized through popular marketing forums and they were always a great time. The last one I went to was about 2 years ago and was downtown Chicago and there were about 20 of us who met at a restaurant and since we had so many people, we were given our own party room As a freelancer, how important is networking? I got to meet a lot of people in the same niche and hear what they are doing and plan to do. A few of those people I still talk to on a weekly basis and we still hang out to this day. Some of the people have since fallen out of the SEO and Internet Marketing game, but some have gone on to do great things. One of the guys that I'm closer to is actually making around $15,000 a month in the medical niche and sells his inventory to major companies. He doesn't even hold any of the product himself or in a warehouse, he works directly with the manufacturer and gets a commission on each item sold. I'd say he's doing pretty well for himself just being a kind of middle man and not having to hold any of his own inventory lol As a freelancer, how important is networking?

I told you about my friend who's in the medical field because he's actually set up an ecommerce website for me, for free. If I didn't network 2 years ago and keep in touch with him, he probably would have charged me an arm and a leg for the site As a freelancer, how important is networking?

That was nice of him. Yes, to an extent networking can be considered as a way to make friends, and these friends can sometimes make favors, as in this case As a freelancer, how important is networking?

Wow, thats cool. Yeah, networking is really important and I wish I did more of that. Sometimes, when I try to find people to help me out with stuff, I realise that I don't actually have that many connections and I wish I networked more. When you don't have skills in specific areas and have no connections, you will need to fork out tons of money to get stuff done. I wish I had connections who would build my sites for me rather than paying for it. Therefore, I recommend anyone to start networking if they are not doing it yet and this is extememly important to a freelancer.

I think networking is vitally important. I am not exactly a freelancer, but I am an online marketer and a blogger. I focus a lot on affiliate marketer. A lot of my sales, especially for online marketing products and services comes from people I have made connections with online, in my niche. Yes I do make sales on my websites to people I have never connected with but I am finding a lot of sales coming in from Facebook and other social networks where someone in my network messages me to chat about something I have recommended.
I would think the same would apply to freelancing.

Networking when you work for yourself, I Have built somewhat of a team that works with me and helps me reach more people. Without networking to find clients your dead in the water. Before online business networking, there existed face-to-face networking for business. This was achieved through a number of techniques such as trade show marketing and loyalty programs. This is what i think about business networking.

Networking is important, I agree. And despite the fact that I work in my own, i still appreciate the importance of having contacts. The more people you know, the better you can do and there may come a time when you need the help, assistance or support of such people. even though most freelancers seem to work on their own, or in a small team or partnership it is important to be open to others as this is after all a business, and since business needs change, networking is always important.

A good salesman is good in building a network of people. That network is not necessarily composed of clients but just mere relatives, friends, acquaintances. And when the need arises then it is easier to sell when you have developed closeness with the people in your network. In this digital age, networking is best done in social media.

Networking is very important to a freelancer. If you don't do networking, how will you find clients and build a stable revenue source? You need clients in your connection, if you do not have clients in your circle, you will have no jobs at your hand. Therefore, networking is very important if you want to continue working as a freelancer.
