If you had the money would you advertise via television?

Television advertising seems to have steep prices. It's often hard to pay for an advertising slot due to the prices being so large. If you had the money to pay for an advertising slot on television, would you do it?

I personally wouldn't pay for TV ad. I think that quality social media advertising and marketing can produce much better results at much better and affordable price. TV ads are good and effective but if you place them only on most popular shows or sport games occasions, but it cost far too much, and i guess it's affordable only by large and well profitable companies. In the business it's tax deductable, so at the end it still doesn't cost you as much you pay for it, but if we talking about advertising us and our services, social media marketing is way to go

Great Topic, I Would absolutely pay for a TV AD why? Because if i could get my company onto the rite tech networks and even the Superbowl, My Company would reach a new level. Its not so much TV itself but timing, and if your not ready for this kind of level social media and the internet are FREE Marketing. How? Well all you have to do is find people who have a common interest in a company like yours, then when you post you will get attention from like minded people. TV Ads are great but you have to have the correct timing.

I think it really depends on how well my business is set up and where we are at the time.

Lets say I won the lottery tomorrow and wanted to start pushing my company a ton. If I had a few hundred million in the bank I wouldn't have a problem boosting my advertising budget to 100k a month If you had the money would you advertise via television? But the only problem with this is that I wouldn't be able to deal with the incoming sales due to not having enough staff or resources. I would have to build gradually and eventually I'd be on TV If you had the money would you advertise via television?

Getting your ad on TV is similar to advertising through a PPC network. You have to target the right channel at the right time. Are you targeting kids between the ages of 10 and 17, you won't want to run your ad until the afternoon after around 5pm because that's when all the kids will be home. If you run the ad when they're in school, you're just wasting your money because only the parents will see it and say "Well Johnny's not getting that!".

With my current websites targeting webmasters mainly, I don't think I'd be advertising on TV. I do have plans for a website that will target the general population so maybe that one would do well with TV ads over time If you had the money would you advertise via television? You have to think about your niche, if you target webmasters like I do, you won't have a huge success rate with TV ads because not many webmasters are being converted through commercials. We've all seen those godaddy hosting commercials but a lot of us don't use them If you had the money would you advertise via television?

Hi Everett thanks for your nice question. I think advertising depend on your purpose or product. For example, if you sale any physical product in your country, TV advertising may more effective but for intentional product, it also hard to advertise by TV to attract international clients. And, if you think for website base business, I think internet base advertising more effective rather than TV advertising. And internet base advertising also coast effective. On the other hand, You must to pay huge amount of money for TV advertising. And I am sure, you will get more response and more profit, if you advertise on internet alternatively TV. So, If I have enough amount of money for TV advertising, I do not go for it.

I do not think I would bother to invest in TV advertising. I would rather go for cheaper options which are still quite effective. TV advertising is not only extravagantly priced, but there is also the issue that it is limited for a few seconds. You need to choose a particular channel, or more than one, and there may be several prospective buyers who may not be even watching your advert at the time it is aired. I think that social media has taken up a huge market in advertising, considering that there are so many people who actively use social media platforms daily.

It depends on what I am trying to advertise. As a webmaster, I am not sure if the niches I work with will have a very good conversion rate if I advertised on TV. I think I would rather spend the money advertising online in other advertisement networks. The main problem is that it will be harder for me to target my target audience on TV. For example, I own a webmaster forum and I don’t think I can target just webmasters on TV and as you already know, you hardly ever see webmaster related advertisements on TV.

Kind regards,
MasterA

TV advertisement is very expensive. For a 30-second spot, it will cost you an arm and a leg, so to speak. I think the going rate for the prime time hours is 80,000 pesos which is more than $1,000 just for 30 seconds. The only website that I have seen with a tv advertisement is Trivago. I cannot assess the effectiveness of that website’s tv advertisement because it is not common yet. When the competition follows then we can say that tv advertisement is worth the cost.
