I am trying to grow out my nails. Any tips on how to keep them staying strong?
Prenatal vitamins really helped me, when I was pregnant. My fingernails grew to about half an inch past the tip of my fingernails. It gave me really full, thick hair too. Of course, I trimmed my nails when my baby was born.
You might also try a supplement that says it's just for hair and nails as it will contain the necessary minerals for what your body needs.

Also do not soak your nails for long periods of time in water. Consider wearing gloves when you do the dishes so they do not get brittle.

Does anyone know if gelatin makes nails stronger? I have read that this will help make the nails stronger but am not sure about it.
Also calcium will make your nails stronger . Make sure you are eating enough of this.

This home made remedy was proved by my sister, and I have to say the thing works. Buy a transparent nail polish, it has to be brand new and not thick. You add 2 garlic pieces, and some drops of lemon juice, then you have to apply a thin layer on your nails every night before going to bed, then retired it on the weekend and start over again. Super bad thing about it? the smell... garlic every time you put some. But, as I said, my sister tried it and it worked, it took her around 2 or 3 months.
Take more of calcium filled foods like milk etc,take more water and fruits.

I am not really sure about this but the old folks say that eating seafood will strengthen your nails. One proof are the people living in the shoreline. Since they eat seafood almost every day, they have strong nails. I think there was a time that a cousin had broken nails. She was around 10 and my mother told my cousin’s parents to give the child mussels and other shellfish that will improve the health of the nails.
