    Why does Skype automatically start?

    My Skype software has been acting up lately and will restart randomly after I login or just never fully engage (as if it's perpetually loading). I am not sure what to do about this and suggestions on how to fix this are welcome.

    Skype is just trying to install updates. If the updates don't work, you may need to roll back your computer to a time before the updates and then set it so that Skype does not update. Otherwise your Skype software will become nonoperational.

    If you have Chrome set as your default browser, this could be the problem as Skype will automatically try to download the automatic updates via your default. Try setting default browser for Firefox or something else.
