What are your favorite social networking sites for promotion?

My favorite site to use for SEO/blog promotion is Google +, but I also use Twitter and Facebook.

Just recently, I learned about Pinterest, where you can pin photos from a blog post and would like to use that site more as the posts are quickly indexed by Google.

Please share your favorite social networking site(s) plus tips and tricks on how to use them.

From what i've seen, Google + is very good for promotion. It seems more interactive. It's not just about advertising sites as you see with Facebook. People are really talking about important things. So it's like an online magazine. Lots of really smart people talking on Google +. You just have to find the right circles.

Pardon me for saying this but I think Google Plus is very formal that so many users prefer Facebook. As they say Facebook is for the masses because they see Google Plus for the business-minded only. With Facebook it is free and easy with the promotion as long as you don’t do it excessively so you wouldn’t be tagged as a spammer. However, the users of Facebook are universal so the conversion rate is very low.

That's a valid point. Niche marketing for specialty products is noticeably lacking on Google +. However, I believe that will change in time as more people learn about Google + and harness it's ability to reach the masses.

And, do you get good click throughs on links you tweet about? For instance, do you get actual visitors to your blog/forum from Twitter? Or, do you simply have a lot of people following you on Twitter?

Have you tried Google + yet? The thing i like most about Google + is that it's more like a blog with expert niche writers in the fields of gaming, webmaster tips, SEO, etc.

So far, I'm using Facebook and Twitter. Also began using Pinterest. Haven't seen a drastic change yet, but who knows. Maybe it will become as successful as my Facebook page.

I'm always seeing more Pinterest photo pin collections on Google. I think it could be the next big thing.

Pinterest photos on Google Images?

Like when you search regular, the pages where the photos are pinned come up. I'm thinking that's because of the keywords used, as most times those keywords i'm searching show on the Pinterest page too.

That's cool. I haven't noticed that whenever I'm searching for photos.
Currently, I'm trying to use Pinterest on spreading my blog's links. So far, I still haven't seen any drastic effect...

And, what's your blog about? The demographics of Pinterest might not be right for it. Though I have seen many varieties of niches there from crafts to lingerie pics. So really anything goes.

There must be some nice entertainment/celebrity related photos you could pin from your own niche. Just put them in a nice collection so your Pinterest page makes sense and has a cohesive theme.

What feature did you use? Fan page? Groups? Or Facebook ads?

Some companies put a lot of money into the graphics design/headers for these social networking sites as they understand that fans on these sites will have a more favorable impression, especially if a good image is presented.

Yeah. I will definitely work best if you have hundreds pr thousands of followers on that site. But since Addthis started to get problems on submitting links on Pinterest, I haven't yet submitted anything.

Sometime Google+ seems more user friendly and easy than facebook. Google+ is easy to access., i.e. whenever you are logged in to your Gmail account, you are logged in to Google+ as well. You would not have to log it on separately.

I've been on Facebook to know that it can be one of the best social media sites that can aid in promoting products and services considering the large users that can be found on the site on each passing day. Once done well, Facebook can bring about increase in sales of goods and services.

Me too. My favorite are twitter and facebook. I have active followers who can click on the links I share. I have ever tried google plus but it
never really helped in generating traffic to my site.

Triberr is also another good site for generating traffic but I haven't seen people talk about it.

I have an active account in Facebook and to my mind, it is the best pasture for marketing not only because it has more than 2 billion users but most of the people in my circle are on Facebook. I can get the support of those people in my network although not 100%. But think if I have 5,000 such friends and 10% of them would respond to my marketing spiel, isn’t that a big number already? And although the marketing posts will not be every day, those friends can also spread the word if they will share my post.
