Both these have different potentials. If you are a new website owner, you need to concentrate on both at once.

1. Seo
Regarding the seo it is a long term plan. You need to work on daily or spend some large amount of money. Even with that you may fail to reach 1st 2nd pages of google. But at least some keywords would be ranked in top.

2. PPC
ppc is actually a broad term which introduce different type of advertisement process. This include facebook, adsense and etc. However these are very good fr niche targeted traffic.

Both are effective. However in PPC there is more risk involved and its only for short term promotion. While SEO is for long term benefits.

On the surface I would have to concede on this one. If you want a short term win, PPC will give you an instant presence. You can’t argue against that. However, an argument for SEO could be put forward depending on the situation. If we were starting from scratch PPC wins but if we were talking about targeting an uncompetitive untapped key term with a well-established site then SEO could well win the day.

A great content marketing piece produced for SEO can also sometimes generate a quick win in terms of visitors and social exposure if done well.

If you have no budget, SEO is the best. PPC is good if you have enough money to invest.

In response to my original question of "Should I be using PPC or SEO for my business?", my answer is BOTH!

Pay-Per-Click is one of the fastest ways to 'jump-start' your businesses digital marketing efforts with immediate traffic. Just be conscious that Google Adwords, for example, requires a bit of experience or training. Google offers this training in their certification process for both Google Adwords and Google Analytics, which is free for all businesses. There is quite a large learning curve, so I highly suggest you take the time to get the certifications. PPC is the quickest way to make an impact online, but it will also provide you with great statistics and data that will directly inform your SEO efforts.

Search Engine Optimization is highly important but, if done properly in accordance to Googles algorithm, it could take a while to generate results and traffic. If your website is brand new, you might be trapped in the "Google Sandbox" for the first few months of your website's existence. Count on many fluctuations in your rankings, inconsistencies, and heaps of growing pains when beginning your SEO efforts.

But do not be discouraged because a long term SEO strategy is going to bring you the most educated and experienced traffic, that will inevitably turn into qualified leads. Additionally, your SEO efforts (improving page content, backlinking, titles, meta descriptions, etc.) will directly help your PPC results as well.

The fact is that, done correctly, both PPC and organic SEO can get you on the front page of the search engines for targeted terms. However, each has its respective benefits and costs. For these in depth SEO questions, I rely on information from one of the leaders in the industry, SEOmoz. They recently published an article by the team at Enquisite that quantifies the effectiveness of SEO vs. PPC through statistics and buying behavior.

This topic is like comparing the proverbial apples with oranges. SEO is search optimization methods that you can apply on your site to get free traffic from search engines. It is actually free and all you need to do is spend time and effort to do SEO work. PPC is the pay per click scheme of advertising that you only pay when your ad is clicked. One example is Google Adwords. Take note that you have to spend not time but money in PPC.
