So someone added me on a Skype from a SEO group a friend of mine is running. A girl, trying to learn SEO.

It started with questions about building tier 1 backlinks and stuff, I quickly realized keyword density, anchor diversity, onpage seo, problems with keyword stuffing are all still to be learned by her. After some time, I told her to read some SEO forums and I got an answer "I'm reading for 15 days now". Than I checked her Skype status and it hit me. "For article writing and professional SEO services, please contact us!" I was amazed.

After short talk, I realized this girl already has a customer probably from Freelancer or some other crappy place and she has to rank site for 10 keywords. Hello?

This is why the market is stuck. Probably someone wrote an ad about needing SEO for 10 keywords, people answered with their prices above 1000$, and I bet this girl came with price below 100$ and mentality "I am a professional, I am learning SEO for 15 days".

In 2013, people still buy Scrapebox and download AA lists raped a million times from forums with average OBL 1000+ and they believe that is it.

True story bro.

Cheap services does not equal good services. And, a real professional will charge what they are worth, not try to under cut the competition on price.

SEO market is big, anyone can make a few hundreds of dollars monthly with some SEO knowledge. Problem today is, when people hear about SEO and how people are making money with it, too much of them instantly get the idea that they will sell SEO to clients around the world long before they actually get all the knowledge they need.

Let's be honest, you can't get a good optimization done for a few dollars. There is a reason companies and corporations are paying thousands of dollars monthly for good optimization with results. Most of people learning SEO go to a marketplace where hundreds of sellers are offering cheap "SEO". They check out some gigs and discover Wiki link jobs, EDU jobs, blog comment jobs... Than they ask questions like "how to make Wiki links" and search for cracked outdated software that does those jobs and voila: There's a new SEO professional which will make you an optimization of 1000 blog comment links with Scrapebox straight to your money site for 3$.

SEO is a big thing, there are unlimited ways of getting money with it. Promoting stuff as an affiliate, PPC programs... Most of people from countries where 5$ makes their daily set of luxury and offering SEO services don't even have their own website. Anyone can buy Scrapebox, Wiki Blaster, Xrumer or something and sell 10k profile links and stuff like that... If you can get any website on 1st 5 spots in SERP on Google for 10$... Than why don't you create 1 simple website promoting some hot selling products every day, optimize it and ear 10k$+ weekly in a matter of months.

A website needs SEO for better result in search engines like Google, if you don't do SEO of your site then you may not get much benefit as well.

There are other ways of getting traffic that converts well besides SEO. I know people making 6 figures with deindexed websites.

I have seen the interview of 2 SEO specialists on tv a few months ago. They said that SEO is getting to be a big industry and that those wanting to learn SEO methods should do it now. Maybe that girl is smart when it comes to business of selling that she was able to get a customer even if the product is not yet there. Anyway, that goes to show that we can earn from our SEO knowledge.
