    SEO stands for search engine optimization.
    On Page SEO - When we edit the source code of particular in order to make it SEO friendly is known as on page SEO. (Like Meta Tags, Image, H1 tags, Content, Navigation, Footer Links etc).
    Off Page SEO - Creating Back links for website in order to drive traffic and improve ranking.

    I am not techie and being honest about it I am confused with the meta tags and HTML. Maybe I would stick to the basics like writing a good content that I can upload to the site and thinking of a very appropriate keyword or keywords to go with it during the uploading. The content is always the first item that the search engine crawlers check after identifying the site so I really think that we should be focusing more on the contents.

    SEO is a process of optimizing a website for getting top ranking on search engines.

    There are 2 major parts in SEO as on-page SEO and off-page SEO.

    On-Page SEO means work that is done on pages of the website like creating title tags, meta tags etc.

    Off-page SEO means work that is done for creating backlinks for your website with the help of off-page optimization techniques.

    Link Building is techniques which helps to create backlinks for your website. Here are some of link building techniques as follows:

    In my opinion, the best way to learn new SEO is to learn one single concept first then apply it. If you try to learn everything or as much as you can then try to apply after you've read 45 different concept and application procedures its going to be very hard. Unless its a process that I use regularly I will have to relearn it, but I won't have to relearn the entire process as bits and pieces of it will still have been in my memory from past use. But more often than not, I find my best friend google for some refresher help.
    If you have a lack of knowledge, you shouldn't worry too much. There such a huge amount of information and different techniques that it would be impossible to not gain more knowledge on the subject.

    the Offpage SEO is the Link Building and the Onpage is done through the Server side. You can learn SEO in deep by using the Google Help and web master tool of the google.

    An important part of off page SEO is getting influencers in your niche to talk about your site or review it. This will be much more important in terms of backlinking in future Google updates, than using anchor tags, which are being seen as manipulative.

    This is not to brag but I can say that I learned all about SEO just in this forum. When I came here, I have zero knowledge of SEO and I was actually avoiding those topics until such time that I got a bit interested. Now I know of the basic SEO work like uploading fresh and unique contents, adding proper keywords to the content for uploading, spreading backlinks to quality websites. Just roam around this forum and give it enough time to learn about SEO.
