    Not sure if Pinterest is do follow. However, i know that all the pages on Pinterest are likely to pop up in search engines. And, the person finding that pin will possibly click through the link provided to see more similar photos. In that way Pinterest acts as a jumping off point to your site.

    In my opinion Pinterest is great for increasing exposure and reaching a broader target market. You can integrate your account with your Facebook timeline which will also increase exposure, along with tweeting links to your pin boards.Make sure that as many people repin your images and you’ll get lots of easy backlinks.

    Just tag the photos/pages with really popular, low competition keywords and they will rank high very quickly.

    Almost any niche is right for showcasing on Pinterest. Even for a niche like SEO, you could pin photo examples of link wheels and SEO processes (charts) that would help a person understand SEO. There is so much you can say with a photo.

    Sometimes, the hardest part of SEO is waiting. Good search engine rankings don't happen instantly or usually over night. So you need patience and perseverance.

    I don’t have an account in Pinterest and I am only sharing what I have read about Pinterest in this forum. Posting or pinning your promotion in Pinterest is like posting a backlink. In fact, it is now considered a backlink just the same as the social signals that you had posted in social media. The good thing about pinning is the function that it can be re-pinned that is like re-tweet in Twitter.
