Cross promotion

What's your best technique for cross promotion? For instance, once I saw a really good cross promotion where the site owner mentioned a discount/coupon to anyone following him on Pinterest. They had to go to his Facebook page to claim it though. This cross promotion ties in two very popular social media platforms.

I like that idea. Tieing in two social sites to get the offer makes sense to me. I know that some may grumble about it but it makes perfect sense to do it this way.

Cross promoting offers and posts over numerous social platforms is a good way to get users of one site to cross over and like/follow you on another. Sometimes, people will stay on a favorite social site and never move over but if they see good enough posts/offers being cross promoted, they will make that jump. For instance, someone who has never used Google+ might make that jump from Facebook and start using the site if they knew they had access to better coupons, offers, etc.

This cross promotion is being done by politicians. When we got involved in the election campaign years ago, I have attended a meeting of 2 campaign groups representing 2 candidates. The agreed a cross promotion by telling their followers to follow the other politician. It’s like politician A has a million followers and B has only 500k followers. If their 500k followers will follow their request then A will have 1.5 million followers and B will have 1 million. A neat trick.
