What does repurposing content mean, and does it affect SEO?

We all know that writing good and original content is important. However original content is not only about posting new things, but also about recycling or repurposing content. What does this mean?
Basically it refers to using older content so as to attract new leads. You can thus pick your best content, such as articles or posts that were really interesting and that contain very valuable and relevant information, and you can then identify ways to reuse it. This practice can help to increase the SEO value of older posts and at the same time it moves your readers naturally through the content. Do you agree?

A very easy way to repurpose old content is to break down good blog posts and create multi-part email series for new subscribers.

You can also add 10 of your most popular blog posts to a 'best of' ebook for new subscribers or to use as part of your viral marketing strategy.

Another possibility would be to post a 'tip' from a lengthy blog post and then link to that post. In that way, you are repurposing old content for social media too.

I was actually thinking of how to repurpose or how to re-use an existing content. And you said it loud and clear that you can reuse existing blogs by compiling them into an e-book with the title and description to indicate that they were your most popular blogs. That will not constitute repetition of content since those published blogs will be presented in a different way as before. And if you are good in writing the blurb for that e-book, it might also get traffic to the original blogs.

I love that idea Beverly, creating a Best of eBook. I have not yet made use of repurposing old content, but it is something I am very keen to get onto, especially with eBooks and email marketing.

Now that my internet connection is finally back I will be having a look at that.

I think recycling of content simply means changing the keywords, tone and the writing approach. This way the content looks lot new. And it can be used in new article or the site. I know many business who do this type of the work on daily basis. And theya re using the content inside the ebook and the forums or blogs.
