Express concern for the situation with the staff member. Let them know you don't appreciate disrespect.

Ask the staff member to take a little time off. Maybe they're just under too much stress and feeling resentful over having to staff the forum.

Talk to the member and say that you can not have this on your site. If they continue to do it, then tell them that you are going to have to ban them from your site.

Send them a message stating you do not allow such behavior on your site. If it persists and you have given a warning, then ban them from the site.

Have a warning policy in place. A few strikes and you are out!

Before you jump to conclusions and start banning valuable staff members, take some time to sort it out. Ask the staff member to talk it over. You might say, "I've noticed you don't seem happy on the forum lately." And, then encourage them to talk about it. Maybe there is some situation that is causing the disrespectful behavior or tone of voice.

Quinton I agree that you need to try and get to the bottom of it. You just can not ban a member for no reason.

Tell them that they need to respect everyone and if it does not stop then they will be banned.

Oh no I would never just ban a member for no reason.

Well Angie I should hope not, that would not be running a site very professionally.

That’s a case of insubordination. What is the management doing? Why is the staff still there? And being described as perpetually disrespectful means that staff has a bad character, no good manners and right conduct. In the first place, who hired that staff? It is his responsibility so if he notices that his hired staff is not doing it right then a drastic action should have been taken early on.
