I would have to say Facebook due to the fact that you get more interaction with people. Such as chats and pages unlike twitter where it all just goes into 1 feed. With Facebook, you can have a personalized page for your services / website and can promote and post there and keep it all organized!

If you would have asked this an year ago,then i would have definitely said facebook but after News feed Algorithm changes my vote for Twitter,with facebook you can't reach to that many ppl as out of 500 it would hardly show your post to 100 ppl,its organic reach is really declining.

I understand where you are coming from on that but to me, I would still think Facebook just because with twitter, everything is pooled together and at least on Facebook it is more organized and easier to manage.

I joined facebook because i loved the idea of being able to keep up with friends/family and then came facebook pages,it was a good deal to keep our fans updated with our product/service so i created my page,things went fine but then came the News feed alogorithm changes as you know their investors were not happy to see newsfeed not a revenue generating product for fb,so they wanted it to make money from that but i was using fb to keep in touch with all my friends and fans.Do i need to pay them to even keep in touch with my friends and fans,ofourse not! With investors pressure,sometime you forget why your users are really using your product.Nothing is here forever,Facebook is also going to end just like Myspace but i hope they keep learning from their mistakes.Users dont care whether its facebook or anyone else,they will use it only till it serve their purpose,the day it stop serving that purpose facebook will be history.
Coming to the point,people joined twitter bcoz they wanted to be able to talk about things and so far it hasnt changed.
Correct me if i'm wrong

Everyone will have there own experience about it ..For me it might be facebook for other it might be twitter ..
But best i think in this will be to create your own affiliate website to promote your service on there and to get order over here ...
That will increase your affiliate sales as well -more orders as well and less commission deduction as well..

I if you want to have people that are really interested in your product, who can find you easily, go for Facebook (that is if you have REAL likes). If you are updating your business/blog with and want the word to get out fast, giving you fast, but temporary traffic, go for Twitter.

You don't have to choose which one works best as you can use them all. Why not even include Google+ and Pinterest and Reddit and any other social networking type site where you could get exposure rather than making it an either/or situation.

From a social perspective, Facebook is really awesome as most people you know will already be using it. When I first started using Google+, it was really hard to get any of my friends to convert from Facebook to Google+ and so eventually I embraced Facebook more, despite not really liking the site. That was around three years ago. Now, it just seems second nature to use Facebook for communicating with friends. Though I like Google+ because of the informative posts and niche circles there.

With Twitter it is much easier to build a targeted audience, or at least it seems that way for me. Everytime I hashtag something surrounding my niche I get 3-20 followers at least. Sometimes more. Facebook I found a little more difficult to gain targeted followers unless I was spending $$ on campaigning.

As far as traffic being driven, with quality content I have had the best experience with Pinterest, Reddit, We Heart It, and Tumblr. Honestly these four networks are my secret weapons. You can drive so much traffic with quality content. Well, We Heart It is a little different. I usually use video to generate backlinks, traffic, etc., from that site.

Good thing about we heart it, and I've mentioned this before, is you can follow as may people as you want, without any limitations.

So emphasizing more on what @Beverly said, don't settle to one social network. Try them all. With each one, requires different methods to be used.

Also depending on the niche, social bookmarking sites may work better for you. Or maybe a site like Stumbleupon. I've had some good results with Fancy in some niches. Just depends.

I'm so happy to hear from someone else who loves Tumblr (and Pinterest) as much as I do. Many people are just focusing on Facebook/Twitter as if it's the only thing going but the internet has so many wonderful little gems.

Hello guys,which of this will you preferred to make your gig popular on the social media platform?Have loved to use the twitter but want to know peoples opinion on using the facebook.

I utilize both and they get equal time from me. My stats say that FB is far more effective however. But, I wouldn't go without Twitter, both are useful. However, on FB it is far easier to target your posts to your audience. For instance, I often cross-post to FB groups that have direct relevance to my niche and those produce a lot of traffic. With Twitter, it's harder to put together a targeted audience and your posts are easily lost in the stream, so you have to repost. One technique I like on Twitter, though, is to use a TE to get retweets. These originate from a TE, but they are organic traffic because no one is forcing anyone to click on the URL in the retweet.

I think Twitter is better than Facebook, since Fb display your posts up to 5% of your fans or friends. With Twitter you can get the attention of many people with the help of htags. If you can find smart ways to add 2-3 related htags (but one htag to be hot in that moment), to your posts then you can get a lot of traffic and maybe some great conversions.

For me Twitter works better. You can shoutout members, DM them and others, its much easier to contact people than on facebook. Plus facebook pages lost a lot of reach / exposure in the past month, which made advertising there much harder.

When you create your Twitter account you have an option to link it to your Facebook account and vice versa. The networks work together. There is no need to choose. They both work fine alone and fantastic together!

I have been using both Facebook and Twitter and I have been more successful on Facebook. I created a page which I advertised and my friends also helped me by sharing my Facebook page with others on their friend lists. This helped to increase my number of followers.

Whether you want to use for personal networking and communication, or professional networking and communication, facebook and twitter both are very effective. Twitter has 280 character limits for a post (until recently it was 140), however, on facebook there is no limit on how many words you can write. Twitter has a limitation on what you can share on the profile. However, facebook offers a great profile customization option. You can create many pages on facebook but there is no such option on twitter.

Based on my own experience, Facebook is the best social media regarding personal matters and business matters as well. My Facebook account is for personal use that I open it once a day only and sometimes I don’t open it all when I am too busy. I have a Twitter account but I only used it when I was testing how it works. Twitter is not much beneficial to my interests so my Twitter account has been stagnant for more than 5 years now. Definitely, Facebook is the best social media in terms of social engagement.
